Ryan Miller is the consummate horseman. He began riding at the age of six, and always knew that he'd pursue a career in the horse world. By the age of twelve, he was already volunteering at Stable Influence, a therapeutic riding program for disabled children, as well as riding sale horses and helping to start young horses. He sure learned how to stay on the tough ones! Soon after, Ryan began his formal training in the Western discipline, focusing on Western Pleasure and speed events. He rode and showed successfully on the AQHA, APHA and Arabian circuits. While participating in breed shows, he became enamored with the English discipline and soon decided to pursue dressage and jumping full time.

Ryan received intensive training with Dorie and Uli Schmidt, internationally renowned judges and trainers, and credits them with giving him his start. "My riding with both Dori and Uli Schmidt was an honor and a privilege, not only because of his standings nationally, but because of the quality one-on-one instruction I received.

Ryan continued to excel in his profession, becoming assistant coach of the ASU Equestrian Team. He helped to establish a successful and competitive program with a strong emphasis on equitation and the mental strength required to be a winner in the show ring, a philosophy that Ryan continues to teach in his current program at RME. His students are some of the toughest competitors around!

Following time spent in Holland developing young horses for Noel Scholpen and Grand Prix Rider Alexander Rohling, Ryan has returned to Arizona, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and a desire to create one of the top Hunter/Jumper programs in the region. He believes in constantly furthering his own education, and has continued to seek out training opportunities with some of the industry's best. He recently returned from an intensive workshop with legendary horseman and west coast Associate Chef d'equipe to George Morris, Bernie Traurig. As well as works closely with Holly Hugo-Vidal and James Waldman.
